Rangehood Repairs
Repairing your rangehood usually much cheaper and convenient than replacing it. Give me a call and I’ll book you in for a callout to diagnose any problem with your rangehood.
Model and serial numbers
When you contact me I will need the correct model and serial number for your machine. Providing me a photo of the serial sticker is the most accurate way to do this.
On most rangehoods the sticker is behind the grease filters.
Rangehoods are pretty reliable provided they are kept clean. Clean the grease filters periodically by removing them and cleaning them in the sink with water and detergent. Ensure they are properly dry before reinstalling them.
Rangehoods really only have three components: A fan, a control panel and a light. Some units have a control board too.
A common complaint is that the light does not stay on. This happens most often on the push button type when the switch breaks.
All these parts can be replaced easily if they fail provided the manufacturer still has the parts available. In some cases the control switches can be cleaned and repaired.
